Dorothy Harms

Co- owner with husband, Don Harms, Valley Springs Farm, Reedsburg, WI– position Farm Business Manager 1982-present. In 1982, Donald married Dorothy Lins, and together they have operated Valley Springs Farm the past 40 years.  Attention to detail and a love for dairy cattle have helped them earn recognition as Sauk County’s highest production Holstein herd for several times in their dairy career. Dorothy & Don have transitioned to raising and direct marketing grassfed Red Angus beef during the past 5 years and have diversified into agritourism with offering a farm stay lodging experience.

Select Sires East Central/Select Sires Board of Directors (2002-2019) –represents farmer-owners of Wisconsin based cattle AI cooperative. Centralstar Cooperative board of Directors (2019-present) – merger of East Central/Select Sires and NorthStar Cooperative.  Elected Secretary (2006-present). Select Sires Inc Board of Directors (2011-present) – overseeing leading U.S. cattle AI production facility which provides superior genetics & innovative reproductive technology globally. Elected 2nd Vice Chair (2013-2015). Elected 1st Vice Chair (2016-2018). Elected Chairman of the Board (2019- March 2022).
