Jason Brancel

Position title: President and CEO, Riceland Foods, Inc.

Jason Brancel serves as President and CEO for Riceland Foods, Inc. He joined the 100+ year old 5,500-member strong rice milling and soybean processing cooperative in April of 2022.

Prior to joining Riceland, Jason served as President and Chief Executive Officer at Agfinity, Inc., an ag supply and grain marketing cooperative headquartered in Loveland, Colorado. Previously, Jason served in executive roles at large cooperatives over a 30-year career in agribusiness, including roles as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Credit Officer.

At Riceland, Jason is leading a program with the management team and Board to link strategic choices with investments in the Member and Customer Experience, Operational Excellence, Financial Fitness and Organizational Health. Jason is committed to his team having many “good days” as they strengthen the organization together.

Jason has led all operating functions of cooperatives as well as mergers, acquisitions and integration processes that combine teams and deliver strong execution across multi state trade areas. Jason has developed business planning tools and works with teams from the Board to the front line to ensure strong execution.

Jason is a results driven leader who focuses on markets, people, processes, and technology. As such, he has been invited to speak at agribusiness industry events and roundtables on topics such as credit and finance, governance, organizational structures, leading change, and the evolving agribusiness landscape. Jason places a strong emphasis on organizational culture. He has leveraged strategic partnerships with organizations such as Gallup to bring data driven insights that promote a positive work environment and build values-based culture.

Jason earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin- Platteville and has completed extensive subsequent coursework to include:  CHS Future 40 Program at the University of Minnesota; FCC Services Advanced Leadership Program; Graduate Institute of Cooperative Leadership at the University of Missouri; and Leading for Results at North Dakota State University.

His past service to outside organizations includes Chairman of the Board at Burlington Consumers Credit Union, Director for MCU Financial Center Credit Union, Director for the Cooperative Network Federated Youth Foundation, Director for Upstate Colorado Economic Development, Director for the Northern Colorado and Wyoming Better Business Bureau, and on the Executive Council for Land O’Lakes.

Jason presently serves on the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives Executive Council, and on the Board of Trustees for the University of Missouri Graduate Institute for Cooperative Leadership.

Jason and his wife Carmen reside in Little Rock, AR. They enjoy traveling, numerous outdoor activities, and place an emphasis on health and wellness. They have two adult children – Madeline, who lives and works in Boston, MA, and Hans who lives and works near Madison, WI.
